Biography: The American actress is famous for her effervescent portrayal of often kooky characters on film. Her most famous role is as Judy Benjamin in 1980s "Private Benjamin, which she also produced and for which she received an Oscar nomination for Best Actress.

Before that Hawn came to fame in the film adaption "Cactus Flower" (1969) opposite Walter Matthau. The role won her a Golden Globe award and an Academy Award for Best Actress and made her career.

Hawn went on to star in "There’s a Girl in My Soup" (1970) with British comic Peter Sellers and "Shampoo" (1975) with Warren Beatty and Julie Christie. Later roles have included Swing Shift (1984) with her long-term partner Kurt Russell and "The First Wives Club" (1996) with Diane Keaton and Bette Midler.
