Biography: Hristo Stoichkov is a Bulgarian football player who is regarded as one of the best forwards of his generation, as well as the all-time best Bulgarian football player. He won the Ballon d'Or in 1994, as well as being runner-up for the FIFA World Player of the Year award in 1992 and 1994.

Stoichkov joined Barcelona in 1990, where he was nicknamed "El Pistolero" ("The Gunslinger"). While there, he was part of manager Johan Cruyff's "Dream Team" alongside Pep Guardiola, José Mari Bakero, Jon Andoni Goikoetxea, Miguel Angel Nadal, Txiki Begiristain, Ronald Koeman, Michael Laudrup, and Romário.

The Dream Team at Barcelona together won four consecutive La Liga titles, as well as the 1992 European Cup. Stoichkov was particularly noted for his on-field partnership with Romário.

Stoichkov was also a key member of the Bulgarian national team, with the team coming fourth at the 1994 FIFA World Cup. Stoichkov himself received the Golden Boot for his performance, being the top scorer with a total of six goals during the championship.
