Biography: Khan started his career as one of the most successful and admired cricketers in Pakistan, played international cricket for two decades and such was his popularity was elected Prime Minister of Pakistan 2018.

He debuted for the national team aged 18 in 1971, and served as the team's captain various times from 1982 until 1992. His most successful achievement was captaining the team to victory in the 1992 Cricket World Cup, the only time Pakistan has won the tournament.

Along with cricket, Khan has long expressed an interest in charity and philanthropy, as well as politics. In 1996 he formed a centrist party named Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. He became a member of Pakistan's National Assembly in 2002.

At the 2013 elections his party became the second-largest in the country, and then at the 2018 elections they ousted the PML-N from power and became the government for the first time.
