Biography: Jim Bottomley was an American baseball player, known for playing first baseman for several Major League Baseball teams: the St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds, and St. Louis Browns.

Following his major league playing career, which lasted from 1922 to 1937, he served as player-manager for the St. Louis Browns. He then went on to the Chicago Cubs, where he served as a scout and minor league baseball manager.
