Biography: Kevin Systrom is an American entrepreneur, computer programmer, and investor. He is the co-founder and former CEO of Instagram, a social media platform he created in 2010 with Mike Krieger.

Systrom also co-founded and served as the chief technical officer of Burbn, a location-based social networking service that was the precursor to Instagram.

Systrom attended Stanford University and graduated with a degree in management science and engineering. After graduation, he worked at Google as a marketer and then as an intern at Odeo, which would later become Twitter.

In 2010, Systrom and Krieger launched Instagram, which quickly grew and was acquired by Facebook in 2012. Systrom served as Instagram’s CEO until 2018, when he announced he was leaving the company.
