Biography: Marion Cotillard is a French actress best known for her Oscar-winning performance as Édith Piaf in the 2007 film "La Vie en Rose" (2007), which made her the first and only actor to win an Academy Award for a French-language role.

Cotillard began acting as a child, appearing in her father's plays and later graduating from the Conservatoire d'art dramatique in Orléans in 1994. She had minor roles in television and films throughout the 1990s before her breakthrough role in the film "Taxi" (1998), which earned her a first César Award nomination.

After her success in "La Vie en Rose," Cotillard starred in major Hollywood films such as "Public Enemies" (2009), "Inception" (2010), and "The Dark Knight Rises" (2012). She also received critical acclaim for her performances in French films like "Rust and Bone" (2012), "The Immigrant" (2013), and "Two Days, One Night" (2014), earning a second Academy Award nomination for the latter.

As well as her acting career, Cotillard is a committed environmental activist and has a long-standing association with Greenpeace. She has been involved in various philanthropic initiatives, supporting causes such as indigenous rights and ocean conservation.
