Biography: Mike Douglas was an American television host and singer who came to famewith The Mike Douglas Show, which ran from 1961 to 1982. Douglas was also recognized for his singing career and role as Prince Charming's singing voice in Cinderella (1950).

Douglas began as a choirboy and later sang in nightclubs and on a dinner cruise ship. He worked as a staff singer at a radio station and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After the war, he sang with Kay Kyser's band and had hits such as Ole Buttermilk Sky (1946). His voice was also featured in Cinderella (1950).

Transitioning to television, Douglas hosted shows like Showcase on WGN-TV and The Music Show on the DuMont Television Network. The Mike Douglas Show started in Cleveland, eventually moved to Philadelphia, and earned national syndication. The show was known for a variety of influential guests and co-hosts, and it won an Emmy Award in 1967.

Following the show's cancellation, Douglas continued to work in television on shows like People Now on CNN. He supported cultural and civic causes in Philadelphia and wrote several books including My Story (1979). Douglas was also recognized with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1976.
