Biography: Hershiser is a former three-time All-Star baseball pitcher who, during his tenure at the Los Angeles Dodgers, was given the nickname 'Bulldog' by manager Tommy Lasorda. At age eight, Hershiser finished third in the national youth hit, run, and throw competition.
