Biography: One of the most influential figures in music history, Spector pioneered a production technique known as "Wall of Sound", which used the recording studio as an instrument to create a dense orchestral sound.

By the mid-1970s he had produced chart-topping singles for people like John Lennon and George Harrison of the Beatles (as well as their final album, Let it Be), the Righteous Brothers and the Ronettes.

In 2003 he shot and killed actress Lana Clarkson, and though he maintained she accidentally shot herself, Spector was sentenced to 19 years to life in prison. He died in January of 2021.
