Biography: Richard Chamberlain is an American actor who first gained fame for his role as Dr. Kildare in the eponymous 1960s television series. He was also the first actor to play Jason Bourne featuring in this role, later played to great acclaim by Matt Damon, in the 1988 television film The Bourne Identity.

After his success in Dr. Kildare, Chamberlain appeared in numerous television productions, including Centennial (1978-1979), Shōgun (1980), and The Thorn Birds (1983), which earned him a Golden Globe Award. He also starred in films such as The Towering Inferno (1974), Julius Caesar (1970), and The Three Musketeers (1973).

Throughout his career, Chamberlain continued to work in both television and film, as well as on stage, earning critical acclaim for his performances in plays such as My Fair Lady and The Sound of Music.
