Biography: Robert Evans was a successful businessman before beginning a short-lived acting career at the request of actress Norma Shearer. Preferring producing he switched again and worked for Paramount Pictures, becoming its Head of Production and making it the most successful in Hollywood. His Paramount Pictures films include "Rosemary's Baby", "Love Story" starring his later wife Ali McGraw, "The Godfather" and "Chinatown".

From 1976 he worked as an independent producer. Evans' lifestyle was notorious and gained many media headlines. He married seven times and was arrested for cocaine possession. In 1983 he was involved in the scandal surrounding the murder of would-be fellow producer Roy Radin during the making of the film "The Cotton Club".
