Satchel Paige

Biography: Satchel Paige was an American baseball pitcher, known as one of the most famous and successful players in the Negro leagues. He went on to debut in Major League Baseball with the Cleveland Indians, which game he played at 42 years old which remains the oldest debut.

Paige was the first black pitcher in the major leagues, and the seventh black player. He was also the first black pitcher to play in the World Series, which the Indians won in 1948.

After the Indians, Paige went on to play with the St. Louis Browns (1951-1953) and represented the team in the 1952 and 1953 All-Star Games. His final team was the Kansas City Athletics, with whom he played only one season in 1965.
