Biography: Sonny Ramadhin was perhaps West Indian cricket's dominant spin bowler of the 1950s.

Capable of turning the ball both ways and he was also famous for using three short-legs along with close-in fielders on the off-side in order to exert maximum pressure on batsmen.

The first of many West Indian cricketers of Indian origin, Ramadhin captured 158 wickets in 43 Tests with a bowling average of 28.98 and a best bowling performance of 7/49 to dismiss England for 186 in the first innings of the First Test at Edgbaston.

Ramadhin was one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the Year in 1951 and in 1988 he was celebrated on the 75c Trinidad and Tobago stamp alongside the Barbados Cricket Buckle.
