Biography:Howard first came into the limelight with 'Brief Encounter' (1945), in which he played Alec. Following this, Howard also starred in 'The Third Man' (1949)—and with this, he was assured as a fixture in television and film from then on. From there his career even took him outside the United Kingdom and to Hollywood, first as the villain in 'Run for the Sun' (1956).
