Biography: Elliott Gould is an American actor known for his work in film and theater. He began his career on Broadway before achieving fame with Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice (1969) and M*A*S*H (1970). Gould has received Academy Award, BAFTA, and Golden Globe nominations and is recognized for his performances in a range of genres, including drama, comedy, and action.

Gould made his Broadway debut in Rumple (1957) and continued with roles in productions such as Say, Darling (1958-59) and Irma La Douce (1960-61). His breakout stage role was in I Can Get It for You Wholesale (1962), where he met his future wife Barbra Streisand. His film career began with Quick, Let's Get Married (1964), and his performance in Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice (1969) garnered him an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Gould worked with distinguished filmmakers such as Ingmar Bergman and Richard Attenborough and appeared in notable films like Capricorn One (1978). He also played Reuben Tishkoff in the Ocean's film series. In television, Gould was a frequent host on Saturday Night Live and portrayed Jack Geller on Friends throughout the show's run.

Off-screen, Gould has maintained a strong connection to his Jewish heritage. He has been married three times, including two marriages to Jennifer Bogart and has three children. He serves on the Screen Actors Guild National Board of Directors and supports the Save Ellis Island project.
