Biography: Val Kilmer is an American actor who first came to fame with his roles in Top Secret! (1984), Real Genius (1985), and Top Gun (1986). He starred in the latter alongside Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis.
After rising to fame, Kilmer went on to star in a number of high profile films including Tombstone (1993) and Batman Forever (1995). He was one of the best paid actors in Hollywood during the 1990s.
Kilmer has suffered from throat cancer in later years, which has resulted in him having difficulty speaking after a medical procedure involving his trachea. He nevertheless reprised his role with a feature as Iceman in Top Gun: Maverick (2022).
