Biography: Yuzuru Hanyu is a Japanese figure skater and two-time Olympic champion. He is the first male skater to win consecutive Olympic gold medals, and the first to break the 100-point barrier in the men's single event. He is also the first to land the quadruple Lutz jump.

Hanyu began skating at the age of four, and began competing internationally in 2007. He won his first major senior-level title at the 2012–13 Grand Prix Final, becoming the first Japanese skater to do so. Since then, he has won numerous gold medals at both the Grand Prix and World Championships.

Away from the ice, Hanyu is known for his charity work. He has also been awarded the People's Honour Award by the Japanese government for his contributions to figure skating.
