Biography:Scott Hamilton was the first American male skater to win Olympic gold since 1960. Known for his athletic performances and shorter stature due to childhood illness, Hamilton won gold in 1984 at the Sarajevo Winter Olympics.
Prior to this Hamilton, won four US and World figure skating championships 1981-84. He retired from amateur competition after the 1984 Olympics but still competed professionally. Hamilton was one of the stars to start up the "Stars On Ice" ice skating touring show.
