Alain Prost

Biography: Alain Prost is a French racing driver and team owner, best known as having earned the title of Formula One Drivers' Champion four times (1985, 1986, 1989, 1993). Prior to Michael Schumacher's win at the 2001 Belgian Grand Prix, Prost held the record for most race wins in Formula One history.

Prost is known for his racing rivalries, particularly during the 1980s, with Ayrton Senna, Nelson Piquet, and Nigel Mansell. While Prost took a year off in 1992 after being fired from Ferrari, he returned in 1993 to win the championship at which point he retired.

After retiring, Prost briefly controlled the French Formula One team, known as Ligier, which he renamed Prost Grand Prix until it ran out of money in 2002. Subsequently he competed for several years in ice-racing, winning the Andros Trophy three times.
