Biography: Andy Murray is a British tennis player from Scotland, having been ranked world number one for 41 weeks in 2016. He has won twice at Wimbledon (2013, 2016) and once at the US Open (2012).

Murray was part of the Big Four, a group of four tennis players that dominated the game during the 2010s, alongside Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer. He beat Djokovic in 2012 to take the US Open final.

Notably Murray is the only male tennis player to have won two gold medals in the tennis singles at the Olympics, He was also the first British man to win the Wimbledon singles since the 1936 win by Fred Perry, and the first Scottish player since Harold Mahony in 1896.
