Biography: Carl Sagan was an American astronomer, cosmologist, author, and science communicator. He is best known for his work as a science popularizer, including his 1980 television series Cosmos: A Personal Voyage, which has been watched by more than 500 million people in over 60 countries.

Sagan also wrote the Pulitzer Prize-winning book The Dragons of Eden: Speculations on the Evolution of Human Intelligence and co-wrote, with Ann Druyan, the Emmy Award-winning documentary series Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey.
