Biography: Chris Rock is an American comedian, actor, writer, producer, and director. He started his career as a stand-up comedian in the 1980s and has since appeared in numerous television shows and films. Rock has also been nominated for and won several prestigious awards, including four Emmy Awards and three Grammy Awards.

Born and raised in South Carolina, Rock began performing stand-up comedy in local clubs and bars when he was in his early twenties. He soon caught the attention of Hollywood and was cast in small roles in films such as Beverly Hills Cop II (1987) and I'm Gonna Git You Sucka (1988). In the early 1990s, Rock began appearing on television shows such as Saturday Night Live and In Living Color.

In the mid-1990s, Rock's career took off when he starred in his own sitcom, Everybody Hates Chris (2005-2009). The show was a huge success and led to Rock starring in such films as Down to Earth (2001), Head of State (2003), and Madagascar (2005).

In recent years, Rock has continued to appear in both film and television, including the popular sitcom Black-ish (2014-present).
