Biography: Josh Brolin is an American actor, best known recently for his roles in Oldboy (2013), Sicario (2015) and as Thanos in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) and the Avengers series. More recently he played Gurney Halleck in Dune (2021) and will return to this role in its upcoming sequel.

Brolin's father is the actor James Brolin, but he grew up on a ranch in California away from his father's acting career. He made his first major role in The Goonies (1985), but his career would not take off properly until he starred in the lead role of No Country for Old Men (2007).

Since then, Brolin has continued to star in critically and commercially successful films such as W. (2008) and Milk (2008). His career has accelerated in recent years, with performances in a number of major action and superhero films.
