Biography: George Blanda was an American football quarterback, placekicker and wide receiver who played 26 seasons in the National Football League. Blanda retired from pro football in 1976, holds the NFL record for most extra points made, and is the only player to score points in four different decades.

Blanda played college football at the University of Notre Dame. He was signed by the Chicago Bears in 1949, and played for them for four seasons before being released. Blanda was then picked up by the Baltimore Colts, where he played for two years before being released again.

Blanda joined the Houston Oilers in 1960, and played for them for 10 seasons. He helped lead the Oilers to the AFL Championship in 1961, and was named the league's Most Valuable Player in 1962.

Blanda retired from the Oilers in 1970, but came out of retirement to play for the Oakland Raiders in 1971. He played for the Raiders for five seasons, and helped lead them to a Super Bowl victory in 1976.
