Biography: Jacob Blake was shot and paralyzed by police in front of three of his children in Kenosha, Wisconsin in August 2020. The incident was captured on video and circulated in the media causing widespread outrage.
Large scale protests resulted drawing on the previous brutal killings of Black Americans George Floyd and Breonna Taylor by police officers. Two protester were shot death in a clash between them and counterprotesters and a white man arrested for their deaths.
Kenosha police announced four months after Blake's shooting that the officer who shot Blake would not be charged.
