Biography: Jamie Vardy is an English professional footballer who currently plays as a striker for Leicester City in the English Premier League. He began his career playing for non-league teams such as Stocksbridge Park Steels and Halifax Town.
In 2012, Vardy signed for Fleetwood Town in the Football Conference, where he scored 31 goals in his first season and helped the team win promotion to the Football League. He then signed for Leicester City in 2014 and played a key role in the team's title-winning campaign in the 2015-16 season, scoring 24 goals and setting a new Premier League record by scoring in 11 consecutive matches.
Vardy has also represented the England national team, scoring his first international goal in 2015. He was part of England's squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup but has since asked not be chosen for any more national squads unless absolutely necessary.
