Biography: Jean Harlow was the original Hollywood 'blond bombshell' and set a template for others such as Marilyn Monroe to follow.

Harlow began making movies while just a teenager. She made her name as a striking bottle blonde with a forthright sexuality, appearing such pre-code films as the Howard Hughes' "Hell's Angels" (1930) and "The Public Enemy" (1931) opposite James Cagney.

In later films Harlow show more comedic wise-cracking talent in such films as "Red Dust" (1931), one of a number of films she made with Clark Gable. Harlow's career was tragically cut short in 1937 when she died of a kidney disease aged just 26.
