Biography: Although Joe Pesci began his career as a child actor he didn't achieve fame until his role in "Raging Bull" (1980), the first of a number of films with director Martin Scorsese and actor Robert De Niro, who became a friend. He won a BAFTA and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for the part.

The role established Pesci's ability to play tough criminal characters. He later reunited with Scorsese and De Niro appearing in the mobster film "Goodfellas" (1990) for which he won his first Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. The trio have also worked together on "Casino" (1995) and "The Irishman" (2017).

Joe Pesci has also showed his comedic ability with roles in John Hughes "Home Alone" (1990) and its sequel "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York" (1992) opposite Macaulay Calkin. In 1999 Pesci retired from acting but continued to take on the odd role.

Pesci is also a musician and in 2019 released his third album. As a young man he was instrumental in the formation of the band The Four Seasons through his friendship with Frankie Valli and Tommy DeVito.
