Biography: John Forsythe had a long and successful career in show business, but it was television where he became a star.

His first success was in the TV sitcom "Bachelor Father" (1957-62). His second was in 1976 when he was cast as the mysterious Charlie in Aaron Spelling's "Charlie's Angels", the unseen head of a private investigation firm and boss of a team of three payed by Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith. He later revised his role in the film versions "Charlie's Angles" (2000) and "Charlies Angels: Full Throttle" (2003).

In 1981 Forsythe was a last minute casting for the prime soap series "Dynasty" (1981) starring alongside Joan Collins and Linda Evans. Created to rival fellow soap "Dallas", it became a hit itself and an iconic 1980s TV program. Forsythe was nominated for a number of awards for his role, winning two Golden Globes.
