Biography: Julia Louis-Dreyfus is an American actress and comedian best known for playing Elaine Benes on Seinfeld (1989-1998) alongside Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, and Michael Richards. She has also worked on Saturday Night Live, The New Adventures of Old Christine, and Veep.

Louis-Dreyfus is renowned as the actress who has won the most awards in American television history, holding the record for most Primetime Emmy and Screen Actors Guild awards.

Her career began in Chicago at the Practical Theatre Company, which then led to her appearances on Saturday Night Live. This set Louis-Dreyfus up to be cast as Elaine Benes in 1990, with Seinfeld going on to be a hugely successful show both in critical and commercial terms.

Since Seinfeld, Louis-Dreyfus has not ceased acting and has continued to work in a number of highly regarded television and film productions.
