Biography: A versatile performer comfortable working in musical theater, film, television, and the recording studio, Mandy Patinkin has won both an Emmy and a Tony award. He is widely recognized for his role of the tormented swordsman Inigo Montoya in "The Princess Bride".

Starting on stage in the mid 1970s, Patinkin's breakthrough came in 1979 when he won a Tony Award for his role in Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's "Evita", He later starred in Stephen Sondheim's "Sunday in the Park with George".

Patinkin's screen work includes a wide range of drama and comedy in period, contemporary, and even futuristic settings. Some films of note: "Yentil" (1983), "The Princess Bride" (1987), "Alien Nation" (1988), and "Impromptu" (1991).

On television, he won an Emmy Award for "Chicago Hope", and also starred in "Criminal Minds" and "Homeland".

As a lyric tenor, he has released many solo albums, as well as participated in several cast recordings. He performs in concert, both on Broadway and on tour.
