Biography: Rose to popularity in the television series "Remington Steele" (1982–87). Also appeared in films such as "The Fourth Protocol" and "Mrs. Doubtfire".
In 1995, he became the fifth actor to portray secret agent James Bond in the Eon Productions film series, starring in four films between 1995 and 2002.
He appeared in both the 2008 and 2018 "Mamma Mia" films.
Brosnan has also worked behind the camera as a producer, and has been involved in philanthropic work causes involving human rights and the environment.
Brosnan has married twice, to actress Cassandra Harris from 1980 until her 1991 death, and to broadcast journalist Keely Smith since 2001.
