Biography: Rishi Sunak is a British politician who is currently serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, as well as Leader of the Conservative Party, since 2022. Prior to this role he served as Chancellor of the Exchequer under Boris Johnson, and he has been MP for Richmond (Yorks) since 2015.
Sunak completed his initial college studies in the United Kingdom before taking an MBA at Stanford University as a Fulbright Scholar, where he would also meet his wife, Akshata Murty. He then worked for a while at Goldman Sachs and as a partner with hedge fund management firms.
After turning his interests to politics, Sunak rose swiftly to power. He was elected to the House of Commons in the 2015 general election and was then appointed by Theresa May in 2017 to serve as Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Local Government.
