Biography: Brett Kavanaugh is American judge, now an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. Previously he served on the United States Court of Appeal before being appointed to the Supreme Court by President Donald Trump.

During the 2000 presidential election, Kavanaugh worked for George W. Bush's campaign on the Florida recount, after which he joined the Bush administration. He was then nominated by Bush to the Court of Appeals in 2003.

When Anthony Kennedy retired from the Supreme Court in 2018, Kavanaugh was nominated to fill his now-vacant position. His appointment was marred by scandal when Christine Blasey Ford publicly accused Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her in the 1980s.
