Biography: Huey Long was an American politician and senator from Louisiana. He served as Governor of Louisiana from 1928 to 1932, and was a member of the United States Senate from 1932 until his assassination in 1935.

As a populist and a champion of the poor, Long was known for his ‘Share Our Wealth’ program, which proposed wealth redistribution and financial reforms. He ran on the slogan "Every man a king, but no one wears a crown."

Long was a strong advocate of public works projects, and was instrumental in the construction of numerous roads, bridges, and public buildings in Louisiana. He was also an advocate of education, and helped pass legislation that improved public education in the state.
