Biography:One of the most popular actors working in French film Belmondo's career began in the 1950s. It was Jean-Luc Godard's French New Wave film "Breathless" (1960), opposite Jean Seberg, that made him a star.
In the mid 1960s he moved into more commercial films appearing in Philippe de Broca's "That Man From Rio" (1964). In the 1970s Belmondo formed his own production company Cerito Films.
Belmodo was made Commandeur of the Légion d'honneur in 2008.
