Biography: John Ellis "Jeb" Bush is an American politician and businessman who served as the 43rd Governor of Florida from 1999 to 2007. A member of the Republican Party and the Bush family, he is the second son of former President George H. W. Bush and former First Lady Barbara Bush, and a younger brother of former President George W. Bush.

Born in Texas, Jeb Bush grew up in a politically active family. He attended the University of Texas, where he earned a degree in Latin American affairs. After graduation, Bush embarked on a career in banking and real estate development in Florida.

Bush entered politics in 1987 when he was appointed as Florida's Secretary of Commerce. He resigned from the position in 1988 to work on his father's presidential campaign.
